Gas Fire & Gas Heater Servicing — Sydney

Annual services, repairs and safety checks for gas fireplaces and gas log fires, from Escea and Jetmaster to Heat & Glo, Regency, Lopi, Rinnai and Real Flame. Licensed gas fitting, Sydney-wide.

Is This What's Happening?

Due for its annual service? That’s most of what we do — cleaning out the components, checking gas pressures, and testing the safety devices before the cold nights arrive.

If something’s actually gone wrong, it usually looks like one of these:

  • Pilot won’t stay lit, or the fire keeps turning itself off
  • The remote or wall control has stopped responding
  • Flame is uneven, sooting the glass, or making noise
  • It’s making a smell, or you’re not sure it’s safe to keep using

Recognise one of these? We’ve fixed it before, on a fireplace much like yours.

What A Gas Fire Service Actually Includes

  1. Clean out all components
  2. Check gas pressures — with a manometer, not a guess
  3. Clean electrodes and glass
  4. Confirm the safety devices are operating correctly
  5. Run the unit for 15–30 minutes and test

Gas Fireplaces & Gas Log Fires

Escea, Jetmaster, Heat & Glo and every other gas fireplace brand — serviced, not just installed

Gas fireplaces and gas log fires are the core of what we do, not a sideline to gas heaters. We service and repair gas log fires, inbuilt gas fireplaces and double-sided units — cleaning corrosion from pilots and electrodes, replacing worn fans, thermocouples and remotes, and confirming the unit is burning correctly and safely.

Older units are common. A gas fireplace that’s ten-plus years old and hasn’t been touched in a while doesn’t need replacing — it needs the corrosion cleaned out and the pressures checked, and it usually comes good.

Brands We Service

20+ years in the heating industry.

Model-specific work is common — customers ask for us by unit as often as by brand: Escea DS1650, DS1400, DF990, DF700, Jetmaster MK4 700, Rinnai Slimfire. If you’re not sure what you’ve got, a photo of the fireplace is usually enough for us to tell you.

When It Won't Light / Keeps Going Out

The most common fault call we get: the pilot won’t catch, or it lights and then cuts out. Almost always it’s corrosion built up in the pilot assembly or on the electrode — cleaned out, it’s usually running again the same visit. If the pilot assembly itself has failed, we’ll tell you before any replacement part goes in.

Call-out and diagnosis for a fault like this is from $330 — that’s a licensed gas fitter attending, a full diagnosis, and the safety devices tested, not just a look and a guess.

Real Jobs From Around Sydney

Coogee, May 2026

The call: “7am Regency fireplace x 2” — two fireplaces booked in for one visit.
What we found: a Regency in the main room and a Lopi in the lounge, both due a general service.
What we did: cleaned out all components on each unit, adjusted gas pressures, confirmed the safety devices were operating correctly, and tested each for 30 minutes. One unit’s remote screen was found broken and noted for the customer.
The result: both units serviced and running. A reminder that “two fireplaces” doesn’t always mean two of the same brand — we service them side by side either way.

Edgecliff, July 2026

The call: “Rinnai Slimfire turning off.”
What we found: a heavy build-up of corrosion in the pilot assembly.
What we did: cleaned out all components, checked gas pressures and safety devices, and ran the unit for 15 minutes.
The result: no further issues on test. If corrosion like this returns, the pilot assembly itself is the next part to replace — we’ll say so before we do it.

Bondi Beach, July 2026

The call: general service on an Escea DF700.
What we found: a heavy build-up of dust inside the heater — nothing dramatic, just overdue.
What we did: cleaned out all components, checked gas pressures and safety devices, and supplied and paired a new remote.
The result: running well, tested at 15 minutes. A new remote is a small fix that solves a lot of “my fireplace won’t respond” calls.

The call: service on a Real Flame Eureka.
What we found: a faulty thermocouple.
What we did: diagnosed the fault, supplied and installed a new universal thermocouple, cleaned out all components, checked gas pressures and safety devices, and tested for 15 minutes.
The result: no further issues. A named part, a named fix — not “we serviced it.”
